Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has paid a visit to the family of Gen. Qassem Soleimani, commander of elite Quds Force of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), killed in a US airstrike at Iraq’s international airport on Friday.

Mr Rouhani said that the White House had committed a major crime and a grave mistake with such an action that led to the assassination of Soleimani.

Daughter of late General Qassem Soleimani, Zeinab Soleimani, demanded the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani avenge her father’s death.

“Mr. Rouhani, my father would avenge his friends if their blood were shed. Now, who is avenging my father’s blood?” said Zeinab in tears as she was comforted by her uncle, Soleimani’s brother Sohrab Soleimani. “Everyone will get revenge for the martyr’s blood,” assured Rouhani.

In a separate report, Qatari foreign minister arrived in Tehran on Saturday and condoled the killing of Qassem Soleimani to the Iranian president.

Elsewhere, thousands of mourners flooded the streets of Baghdad on Saturday in the funeral procession of Iran’s Quds commander and several others.
