Government delegation begins investigating Islam Qala tragedy

A government delegation assigned by the presidential palace to investigate causes of Islam Qala customs tragedy has begun its investigations today.
The delegation, which includes thirteen institutions, started the process of investigating the sides of this event yesterday and promised to take legal actions against the perpetrators.
Earlier, representatives of the private sector, the Chamber of Commerce and a number of lawmakers blamed corruption at Islam Qala customs for the fire outbreak.
An investigation by the Chamber of Commerce and Investment Board into the Islam Qala customs incident showed that traders had suffered hundreds of millions of dollars. The traders said they would stop investing if the government did not compensate.
